Ford announced that it will reveal the new battery-electric F-150 Lightning pickup—a revival of the name of the old Ford SVT Lightning performance truck—in 19 May in a livestreamed event at Ford World Headquarters in Dearborn. Now comes the F-150 Lightning.

Ford has commented to Teslarati , explaining the image posted by its FordPerformance Instagram account, teasing an upcoming vehicle with Formula 1 driver Daniel Ricciardo and Ford CEO Jim Farley. Ford has recently re-entered Formula 1 after a long hiatus.

Ford CEO Jim Farley may have thrown some shade towards Tesla in the past, but the automotive veteran seemed to have adopted a much friendlier stance as of late. In a statement about Ford’s next EV, the F-150 Lightning, Farley gave a nod to several key vehicles that paved the way for the all-electric truck.
