Kia expects the pack to support a range of approximately 80-100 miles (129-161 km) of real-world driving on a full charge. To recap, BMW will be leasing 500 MINI Es from dealers in New York, New Jersey and Southern California starting some time early in 2009. This is great news since the ACP 150 is the gold standard for EV motor/controller drive trains. I suspect that the 20-70 mph acceleration will be freaking awesome!

Per BMW’s press release the MINI E will be motivated by a 150kW electric drive system with a range of 150 miles per charge and a top speed of 95 mph. This would be wonderful news as AC Propulsion is the gold standard when it comes to electric drive technology. Top speed is electronically limited to 152 km/h (95 mph).
