In the valet station of the parking garage of the Rampart Casino was installed a Coulomb Technologies Smartlet™ recharging station, part of the company’s ChargePoint™ network of recharging stations. At the end of the EV Fiesta, the couple departed for the Rampart Casino for lunch.

A perfect example is the licensing of AC Propulsion ’s core electric drive technology to Tesla Motors for use in their beautiful Tesla Roadster. We’ll know soon enough when we get the opportunity to see the debut of the all electric plug-in MINI E in November 2008 at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

Tesla Motors, a Silicon Valley company that makes electric cars, says it has already sold 150 of its $109,000 Roadsters in the Bay Area. Some transportation experts are skeptical that electric vehicles will catch on anywhere in the country, in large part because the batteries and the installation of home recharging units are expensive.

The Tesla Motors roadster battery pack contains 6,831 Lithium-ion battery cells similar to those in a laptop computer.
