Decided to completely ban the sale of new gasoline-powered cars in California from 2035, when all new vehicles must be an electric or plug-in hybrid. Although charging infrastructure is beginning to find its way into cities, it may be awhile until they are available in residential neighborhoods en masse. Of course, EVs that arent designed for battery swaps wont use it, and plug-in hybrids wont need it. New York 2009: The Scion iQ goes Big Wheels! not an issue.
