Idemitsu launches feasibility study in Japan into clean hydrogen production from waste

Idemitsu Kosan, one of Japan’s leading producers and suppliers of energy, has launched a feasibility study of clean hydrogen production in Japan generated from waste, including municipal waste. The goal is to launch a first hydrogen production facility around 2030 capable of processing 200-300 tons of waste per day.

EU Innovation Fund grants €108M to RWE’s waste-to-hydrogen project FUREC

RWE's FUREC project, which aims to produce circular and green hydrogen from non-recyclable municipal solid waste in Limburg, the Netherlands, received a €108-million grant from the EU’s Innovation Fund. The plant is expected to produce 54,000 tonnes of hydrogen per year. A final investment decision is to be made in 2024.

MIT team exploring using LOHCs directly on-board hydrogen-fueled trucks

CPKC orders 3.6MW of Ballard fuel cells for expansion of hydrogen locomotive program

Ballard Power Systems received an order for additional fuel cell engines from Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC). These eighteen, 200 kW fuel cell engines (3.6 MW total) are planned for delivery in 2023 and will support the expansion of CPKC’s Hydrogen Locomotive Program.

Converted hydrogen fuel cell refuse vehicle on trial in Ruhr region as part of HECTOR
