Toyota Motor Europe (TME) posted 2013 first quarter sales of 197,309 Toyota and Lexus vehicles in Europe. During that period, Toyota and Lexus full hybrid sales reached 38,673, up 82.3% The Toyota Yaris Hybrid saw European sales totaling 11,459 units (29.6%) during the first quarter of 2013.

Toyota Motor Corporation announced its plans regarding the mass adoption of electrified vehicles for the decade 2020-2030. By around 2030, Toyota aims to have annual sales of more than 5.5 Toyota also aims to expand its PHEV line-up in the 2020s. The number of models developed without an electrified version will be zero.

Among electric vehicles from automakers that report specific sales numbers for their EV models, the Toyota RAV4 Prime PHEV was tops in the US in 2021 with 27,3707 units sold. Perhaps at the top of the list of trends from our Scoreboard is how well the two PHEVs from Toyota sold. 4 (16,742) BEVs. 4 by 10,398 units.

Tesla helped former shareholder Toyota to bring back the Toyota RAV4 EV , an electric SUV and also aided its other OEM shareholder, Daimler (which also has since divested its Tesla shares), with the Smart ED and B-Class Electric. Toyota – Big in Hybrids; Betting on Fuel Cells & Electrics. We’ve tested most of those.

Chinese auto makers also showed other types of "new energy" vehicles, including regular gasoline-electric hybrids to compete with Toyota Motor Corp.s Prius hybrid. The car, called the F3DM, was launched at least a year ahead of a similar car planned by Toyota. GM plans to launch the Volt in China in 2011.

I wish the thing was for sale as-is. Well they did give brief bursts of acceleration through the parking lot to show that it does have some Roadster goodness to it. But yes, there was no slalom to see how it handles the twisties. It is probably a real rocket compared to the Daimler version that will eventually show up. Follow us on Twitter!
