We did not go in for mix mode because we wanted to find out what is the maximum juice that can be extracted out of the pack. Most sensors are fitted on the valve – and send info to the user via blue tooth. So Electric! (We use sum of actual km run and DTE displayed to get to the end value.) This makes them prone to theft.

The main reasons were: Reduce our monthly electricity. With two Electric cars, at the time a Nissan Lean and Mitsubishi Outlander, we use a considerable amount of electricity but not much petrol, so already we were a reasonable way down the less CO2 road. Initially our Electricity was provided by Scottish Power.

Kalaburagi, also known as Gulbarga, is roughly 550-600 kms away from Mumbai and it is a perfect amount of distance one can travel in a day, in an electric vehicle. Gotta love the free and the fast juice at MG’s Fortum Chargers.

The Volt is, and always has been, more than than an electric car. GM will leapfrog Toyota and Honda by providing an electric car to the masses by the end of next year.
