IS will be available in rear- and all-weather drive versions of the IS 250 and IS 350; in a hybrid version, the 300h, for Europe, Japan, and select international markets; and with a further evolution of F SPORT available across the entire model range, including the hybrid.

A Bloomfield, Michigan startup is developing light- and medium-duty series plug-in hybrid electric vehicle powertrain systems—initially as conversions, but ultimately extending to an OEM basis. V8: from 14 mpg to up to 43 mpg, depending on vehicle use.

Toyota Motor Sales (TMS) USA unveiled the FT-CH dedicated hybrid concept at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. The CH stands for compact hybrid as in compact class.
