Nuvera Fuel Cells, LLC, a provider of heavy-duty hydrogen fuel cell engines for on- and off-road mobility and other applications, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Italy-based system integrator H2Boat, which is developing a zero-emission energy solution for marine applications. Alstom successfully performed the first test run at 80 km/h (50 mph) of the fuel cell passenger train Coradia iLint ( earlier post ) on its own test track in Salzgitter, Lower Saxony (Germany). The hydrogen used for the test runs is the by-product of an industrial process, which is reasonably reused as a waste product.

The transport carrier in the Czech city of Ústí nad Labem and Solaris Bus & Coach have signed a framework agreement for the purchase of zero-emission Urbino 12 hydrogen buses. It covers a period of 8 years; during this time the carrier may order up to 20 hydrogen buses.
