Event: Ford Bronco Sport Off-Roadeo Experiencing the Bronco Sport in the Wild When Ford debuted the all-new Bronco Sport in 2021, it said it was “Built Wild.” 4-cylinder gasoline engine with 250 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. In addition, we are often invited to manufacturer events highlighting new vehicles or technology.

These curbside chargers are part of a joint New York City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT) and Con Edison pilot project. EV owners will pay for charging on a per hour basis, and the cost of charging will be competitive with the cost of gasoline for an internal combustion engine vehicle.

It was noticeable when the gasoline engine engaged, which is something the Toyota hybrid system usually does not to.

Instead of flying from my home in Southern California, I asked if my wife and I could drive to the event. Electric vehicles are most efficient when driven in town to take advantage of the regenerative braking, or on the open road at slower speeds. The all-electric efficiency averaged about 3.0 miles per kilowatt-hour (kWh).
