Researchers at Georgia Tech have developed an inexpensive and simple prototype of a triboelectric nanogenerator that could be used to produce energy from ocean waves by making use of contact electrification between a patterned plastic nanoarray and water. Researchers at Virginia Tech, Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), and the University of Georgia have produced hydrogen gas in a spontaneous, “one-pot” process using an enzyme cocktail, cellulosic materials from non-food sources, and water. Hydrogen production from cellodextrin and water by a synthetic enzymatic pathway.
