I think my list of faves likely is influenced by my overarching love for compact cars. Honorable mentions: Toyota Supra manual, Toyota Prius, BMW 330i, Cadillac CT4 Blackwing, Kia EV6 GT, Chevrolet Trax Activ. Conversely, the relatively firm ride offered by Mazda may turn off some drivers who just wanted a strict luxury vehicle.

Conversions are mostly for the Prius, with a few for the Ford Escape/Mercury Mariner hybrid SUVs. At that point, we expect the aftermarket companies prices to have come down sufficiently so that their conversions will be attractive to owners of hundreds of thousands of hybrids already on the road. So far, most start as hybrids.

PHEV conversions are emerging at a frenzied rate (see the frequency of CalCars-News postings), to the point where its no longer feasible to track every instance of a PHEV.
