Ford Motor Company is publicly demonstrating smart electrification technology that uses cloud-based computing and data to optimize a plug-in hybrid’s powertrain efficiency at the Intelligent Transport Systems World Congress in Orlando. In September, Ford introduced the Evos Concept was introduced at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.

Tesla, Volvo, Mercedes (Daimler), BMW, Audi, GM, Ford, Nissan, Toyota and others are now delivering cars with some of these features and developing cars with all of these. Most of these advanced vehicles will be electric or plug-in hybrids. My test parallel park of Ford Escape was a breeze when the SUV parked itself.

The world is going electric. . Governments around the world are mandating an end to petroleum-based vehicles, and the sprint towards an all-electric future is on. Now is a great time to go over what is fact versus fiction for electric vehicle charging. If I want to go electric, I can now get an awesome truck or a sports car.

Out in the desert as part of Burning Man , our encampment, Snow Koan Solar, is setting up a solar photovoltaic EV Charging Station (at 7:30 and Desert) for electric scooters, golf carts, sofas and barstools.
