I’m talking about Low Speed Vehicles (LSVs) , the official term for what many people call Neighborhood Electric Vehicles (NEVs). But it doesn’t have to be that way. Initial production units should be available by the end of 2015 or early 2016. Fallbrook and TEAM have been working since 2011 to validate the benefits of the NuVinci technology for TEAM’s products.

Southern California Edison (SCE) released a white paper summarizing learnings from its Electric Vehicle (EV) readiness program. Currently, SCE customers lease or own more than 12,000 plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs), both battery electric (BEVs, for about 35%) and plug-in hybrids (PHEVs, for about 65%)—about 10% of national EV sales.

(In In this paper PHEV refers solely to the long-range PHEV of 60 miles (100 km) electric-only range.) It is much more than that.
