Members of Mid-America Electric Auto Association (MAEAA) , straddling KansasCity and stretching into Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma, have been active in challenging two pieces of legislation in the Kansas State Legislature, including a 2019 ordinance to level a demand charge on the state’s solar-powered homes.

E-Car Club. That was the case, until I discovered E-Car Club on the 23rd Google search page under “car hire for under 21s”. As I’ve only previously owned a Citroen Saxo that I bought for £400 (battered but beloved) when I was 17, I was ecstatic to try out a car with central locking and power steering.

Like many of the residents that come to our EV Ride & Drive events or email me for advice on what EV to buy, I appreciate the many advantages EVs have over internal combustion engine-powered ones. I love that my EV is so efficient: EVs convert over 77% of the electrical energy from the grid to power at the wheels.

The club joins some 45 other clubs who have already been "fingered" and are now accompanying EV Jerry and Spirit on his trek across the country. The electric power comes from either the gas engine or by plugging it in to a regular wall socket. It does this by running on electricity part of the time and on gas for the rest.
