Automakers continue to only offer sub-100 mile range vehicles. Plug-in vehicle sales are indeed increasing, with the LEAF and Volt each selling about 2500 units in June 2013. Many workplaces could become EV friendly on the cheap, repurposing existing 120V outlets in parking areas and expressly allowing PEV charging.
