Part of the appeal is six models priced below the luxury car tax threshold, in turn allowing owners to package them into a novated lease and sidestep fringe benefits tax when using the car for personal use. Vision Neue Klasse Vision sedan On the heels of announcing its record year in sales of all-electric vehicles last year, BMW says it is now investing $711 million (€650 million) to convert its main factory in Munich to exclusively produce electric vehicles by the end of 2027. It expects to sell half a million BEVs this year.

Petrol-only vehicles saw their lowest share in modern history, taking just 1% of the market. A similar personal best was gained by its slightly lower volume sibling, the Opel Corsa, just outside the top 20. Overall, HEVs have been on a long term decline since mid 2020. Diesel share continued its steady decline, but petrol share actually rose YoY, from 34.9% Obviously this growth in petrol share is temporary, related to the plugin incentive hangover and a resettling of the market. Only the MG4 put in a personal best performance, with 1,389 units delivered, near to twice its previous high (February).
