An outfit called Flex has apparently been slinging these types of conversions for some spell but is now expanding its presence into America through a location in San Diego. The new kit is made solely for the American market, which makes sense since the Tacoma can be in short supply in Japan compared to Jacksonville.

After spending the past year and a half converting a Porsche 914 to an electric vehicle, I decided to expand my horizons by designing an open-source electric vehicle (EV) conversion kit for a commonly used car. There are already commercially available kits with excellent, detailed instructions for how to convert a vehicle.

My blog unearthed a lot of the inner workings on that vehicle. My ramblings on the 2022 EV scene I have an electric cycle, which is an eAdicct conversion kit added to a Schnell 26 inch cycle. Conversions are mostly for the Prius, with a few for the Ford Escape/Mercury Mariner hybrid SUVs. At that point, we expect the aftermarket companies prices to have come down sufficiently so that their conversions will be attractive to owners of hundreds of thousands of hybrids already on the road. So far, most start as hybrids.
