Construction has started on the first public hydrogen station in Belgium, to be operated by Air Liquide. Two regions of Europe are taking part in this project: the Brussels region in Belgium, and the Wer-Ems region in Germany. In the first half of 2016, Toyota will also bring the Mirai to Belgium, a fourth European market.

Following the United Kingdom, Denmark, Germany and Belgium, Norway is the 5 th European country to start selling the fuel cell sedan. Uno-X Hydrogen, a newly established joint-venture that plans to establish a 20-station hydrogen network by 2020 in Norway, is the first customer in that country to take ownership of the Toyota Mirai.

Driven by Artur Prusak and Thierry Benchetrit, the hydrogen-powered Toyota Mirai from Toyota France took first place in the first e-Rally Monte-Carlo , which was held between Fontainebleau and Monaco. Thirty-five crews of nine different nationalities were registered, primarily with battery electric vehicles.

Toyota Motor Europe (TME) Fuel Cell Business will supply and integrate fuel cell modules into a zero-emission train prototype as part of the FCH2RAIL project in Europe. On the remaining sections of the lines, diesel-powered trains are used. The Spanish state railway operator Renfe is providing the train.
