The Volvo Cars manufacturing plant in Chengdu, the company’s largest in China, is now powered by 100% renewable electricity, taking the company’s global renewable electricity mix in its manufacturing network to 80%. Until recently, the Chengdu plant already sourced 70% of its electricity from renewable sources.

UK-based Connected Energy and Groupe Renault have installed two quick-charge stations based on Connected Energy’s E-STOR energy storage technology on highways in Belgium and Germany. With the E-STOR system, the batteries are recharged at low power, and the stored energy is then released at high power.

Battery modules and cells needed in Belgium for the Audi e-tron and Audi e-tron Sportback were up to now transported by truck over the approximately 1,300-kilometer-long route from the supplier in Hungary. In Hungary and Belgium, Audi uses DBeco neutral. New equipment and processes have been installed specifically for this purpose.

There are now some 800 electric-powered Solaris circulating in 72 cities, including Berlin (90), Milan (250) and Warsaw (130). 47% of the buses built by Solaris are powered by an alternative propulsion system. Meanwhile, almost 500 electrically powered VDL buses are in service in 11 countries.
