INEOS to invest more than €2B in electrolysis projects in Europe for green hydrogen production

Its first plants will be built in Norway, Germany, and Belgium with investment also planned in the UK and France. INEOS, through its subsidiary INOVYN, is already Europe’s largest existing operator of electrolysis, the technology necessary to produce green hydrogen for power generation, transportation, and industrial use.

First cargo vessel operating on hydrogen to debut in Paris; commercial river operations this year

The European innovation project Flagships will deploy the world’s first commercial cargo transport vessel operating on hydrogen, plying the river Seine in Paris. The hydrogen cargo transport vessel will be owned by French inland shipowner Compagnie Fluvial de Transport (CFT), a subsidiary of the Sogestran Group.

Air pollutant emission 2010 limits exceeded in twelve EU Member States; road transport NOx a main factor

Twelve European Union Member States exceeded one or more of the emission limits set by the EU National Emission Ceilings (NEC) Directive, according to recent official data for 2010 reported to the European Environment Agency (EEA). In some instances the limits were exceeded by significant amounts. Finland exceeded its ammonia ceiling.

Number of electric buses in Europe has increased from around 200 to 2,200 in 5 years

A large order of double articulated Van Hool Exqui.City tram buses was delivered to Trondheim, in Norway. In 2020, MAN, in cooperation with transport partners from five European countries, will have 15 MAN Lion City E-city buses tested in a day-to-day operation. Volvo has now upgraded its hybrid buses.
