Volvo Trucks receives order from DFDS for 100 electric trucks – Charged EVs

Of the 125 heavy trucks previously ordered from Volvo, 95 are currently operating in Sweden, Denmark, Lithuania, Belgium and the Netherlands, and 30 are to be delivered during 2024. They will be deployed in nine European markets, including the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium and Sweden.

EEA: no improvements on average CO2 emissions from new cars registered in 2017 in Europe

According to the provisional data, the average CO 2 emissions of a new car sold in the EU rose by 0.4 Since 2010, when monitoring started under current EU legislation, official emissions have decreased by 22 g CO 2 /km (16 %). Electric trucks and buses show massive sales growth in Europe – Charged EVs

The ICCT reports that 11,000 zero-emission heavy-duty vehicles were sold in Europe in 2023, more than double the number sold in 2022, and that 18% of all buses and coaches sold in the EU in 2023 were electric. In 2023, battery-electric transit buses made up 100% of purchases in Luxembourg, Ireland and Denmark, and 98% in the Netherlands.
