Yamaha is coming up with a range of 68 km due to two interchangeable battery packs on the bike scooter (50.4 Ah Li-ion batteries). A Honda Activa-based electric scooter is likely to follow suit. Other big two-wheeler manufacturers in India are also looking to get into the Indian EV market.

Honda will produce a new dedicated hybrid model in the US for nationwide in 2018, as part of the Honda Electrification Initiative, which will expand the company’s portfolio of electrified vehicles. The intelligent Power unit (IPU) packages a DC-DC converter and a 1.3 kWh Li-Ion battery pack.

A 30-time recipient of Car and Driver magazine’s “10 Best” award, unprecedented for any vehicle, the Honda Accord has been the US’ top retail selling car for three years running and is also the best-selling midsize car among under-35 year old car buyers.
