VinFast delivered the first 27 VF 9 all-electric SUVs to its customers at an event in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The first batch of VF 9s, produced and delivered to customers in Vietnam, has a 6-seat configuration. The 6-seat design is equipped with two captain’s seats in the second row.

After these initial deliveries in Vietnam, VinFast plans to export the next batch of approximately 5,000 VF 8s to the US, Canada, and Europe. The VinFast VF 8 is an electric SUV made for global markets with a 5-seat configuration and overall dimensions of 187.00" (length) x 76.14" (width) x 65.63" (height).

VF31 is a medium-sized SUV (segment C), VF32 is a midsize SUV (D segment), VF33 is a large SUV (segment E). The VinFast VF33, an E-segment SUV, uses two 150 kW electric motors, with battery capacity of up to 106 kWh and range of up to 550 km (342 miles).

VinFast VF31, a C-segment SUV, features a 150 kW permanent magnet motor with maximum torque of 320 N·m (premium version) or an 85 kW motor with maximum torque of 190 N·m (standard version). Battery capacity is 42kWh, with a range of up to 300 km (186 miles). The VF32 has 90kWh capacity battery and full-time 4-wheel drive.

Vietnam-based VinFast and the government of North Carolina signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the establishment of VinFast’s first North American manufacturing plant. Recently, Vingroup started construction of a battery plant in Ha Tinh, Vietnam on a 8 hectare plot for phase 1, with a capacity of 5 gigawatt hours (GWh) per year.

Vietnam-based EV manufacturer VinFast held a ceremony to mark its first batch of exports of electric vehicles: 999 VF 8s headed to the United States. This batch is being transported by the Silver Queen —a Panamanian charter ship—and is expected to arrive in a California port about 20 days after departing from Hai Phong, Vietnam.

At Mobile World Congress 2022 (MWC 2022) in Barcelona, Vietnam-based VinFast and Pininfarina illustrated the details of the interior and exterior design of their electric vehicles, VF 8 and VF 9. Established in 2017, VinFast owns an automotive manufacturing complex that features up to 90% automation in Hai Phong, Vietnam.
