Insight sales in Japan from launch. Honda’s Insight ( earlier post ) ranked as the best-selling car among all new vehicle registrations in Japan in April—excluding mini-vehicles with displacement of less than 660cc—with sales of 10,481 units, according to data from the Japan Automobile Dealers Association.

Honeywell and key suppliers will invest approximately $300 million to increase production capacity for HFO-1234yf, its low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerant for mobile air conditioning (MAC) systems in automobiles. The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) allows automakers to receive credits for using HFO-1234yf.

Honda continued the expansion of its manufacturing operations in North America with the production start of the redesigned 2015 Honda Fit at a new, automobile plant of Honda de Mexico, S.A. The start-up of the Celaya Plant increases Honda’s annual automobile production capacity in North America to approximately 1.92 million units.
