Volkswagen Mexico has signed a 20-year agreement to purchase 130 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy from Mexico Power Group’s La Bufa wind farm development in Zacatecas, Mexico. Under the agreement, Volkswagen Mexico plants will save more than 45 million pesos (US$3.6 million dollars) in electricity costs per year.

State laws in Virginia indicate that automobile manufacturers must sell their vehicles through independent franchised dealerships, except when there is no dealership available in a community to offer a company’s vehicles “in a matter consistent with the public interest,” the report said.

Audi has opened its e-gas plant in Werlte, making it the first automobile manufacturer to develop a chain of sustainable energy carriers. In parallel with the e-gas plant in Werlte, Audi also operates a research facility in Hobbs, New Mexico, USA, for the production of e-ethanol and e-diesel in collaboration with Joule.

Demand in Latin America fell by 30% to 318,000 units, following restrictions in Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Peru, and more recently Brazil and Mexico. While Japan, Korea and the CIS countries recorded very low decreases. The volume was also affected by the economic crisis in Argentina, the region’s third largest market.
