UQM PowerPhase Pro 100 electric drive systems are powering a fleet of hydrogen fuel cell London taxicabs during the 2012 Olympic Games. This fleet joins another previously announced UQM-powered vehicle at the London 2012 Summer Olympics.

UQM powers test-fleet vehicles by Audi in Germany, Rolls-Royce and the London Taxi Company in the UK, and previously, Saab vehicles in Sweden. UQM is also powering Hino electric city buses in Japan and demonstration vehicles for EV Engineering in Australia.

GKN Land Systems is ramping up production of its Gyrodrive electric flywheel hybrid technology for buses following successful trials in London and the start of UK production. The Mk4 eFES also benefits from internal contactors on the DC bus to disconnect from the rest of the hybrid system and real time insulation monitoring of the HV circuit. Following successful trials on buses in London, Go-Ahead intends to utilize the technology in cities it serves across the UK, initially in London and Oxford.
