Audi will upgrade part of its vehicle electrical system from 12 to 48 volts. The move represents another technical building block for facilitating the integration of new automotive technologies while increasing the power and efficiency of its cars. Both models are fitted with an electrically powered compressor.

Honda claims that by 2030, 40% of its North American vehicle sales will be battery-electric or hydrogen and that all gas cars would be phased out by 2040.
