As a part of the partnership, Volvo will also gain access to 12,000 Tesla Supercharger locations across North America, just as Ford , General Motors , and Rivian have in their partnerships with the all-electric automaker. Soon thereafter, General Motors made the decision to adopt NACS, with Rivian following.

However, some of the companies that have signed on to use Tesla’s Superchargers and connector are now teaming up to create a new company that will not only hope to use federal incentives to create an expansive footprint of EV chargers but also challenge Tesla, according to a report from Reuters. Tesla NACS gains support from other EV charging companies Tesla has already signed well-publicized deals with both Ford and General Motors (GM) that will see the two legacy companies make the NACS connector standard on their vehicles starting in 2025. Earlier today, we already covered some of the companies that have adopted NACS.
