DHL is piloting four BYD Class 8 battery-electric trucks in the Los Angeles market, just in time for the peak holiday shipping season. The new trucks enhance DHL’s alternative fuel vehicle (AFV) fleet in the US, which includes fully electric, hybrid-electric, and clean diesel—in addition to low-power electric-assist e-Cargo Cycles.

The performance tipped the overall alternatively fueled vehicle (AFV) sector into negative growth for the first time since April 2017, undermining efforts to reduce emissions through fleet renewal of the latest ultra low emission vehicles. AFV registrations (BEV, PHEV, HEV) declined 11.8% to 13,314 units in June.
