The New Hyundai Tucson for Europe, which enters production this month, will be equipped with a fuel-efficient 48 V mild hybrid powertrain. The New Tucson is designed and built in Europe. In addition to the upgraded powertrain portfolio, all Tucson engines meet the new Euro 6d-TEMP emission standards.

The new 2016 Hyundai Tucson will arrive later this year, but not all of its variants will be offered in the U.S. At the Geneva Motor Show earlier this month, Hyundai showed off two hybrid models we likely won''t see: a 48-volt mild hybrid and a plug-in hybrid, both of them fitted with diesel engines.

Hyundai and the US Department of Energy (DOE) are extending their fuel cell vehicle confirmation program, originally from 2013 through 2015, to a second phase, from 2016 through 2017. In February, Hyundai reported that Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell drivers had accumulated more than 1,000,000 miles on the roads and highways of Southern California.
