FCA US reaches settlements on diesel emissions at estimated cost of $800M

FCA US has reached final settlements on civil, environmental and consumer claims with US federal and state agencies as well as private class actions to resolve differences over diesel emissions requirements. The estimated total cost of settlements is $0.8 FCA US has also settled a putative class action on behalf of private consumers.

T&E: Denmark, Luxembourg, Netherlands lead deployments of zero-emission buses in Europe

Denmark leads the way when it comes to putting zero-emission urban buses on the streets in Europe, with 78% of new vehicles being electric, according to the latest data from green NGO Transport & Environment. In Luxembourg and the Netherlands about two-thirds of new buses were zero-emissions.

Germany’s Manager Magazin reports that Volkswagen AG’s internal analysis puts the cost of the diesel emissions scandal at more than €30 billion (US$33 billion). In addition to cost-cutting, the Group will put an increased emphasis on improving efficiency, the report said.

FTA to award up to $55M in 2016 Low or No Emission Program for transit vehicles
