Toyota to begin sales of Mirai fuel cell vehicle in Europe by September

Toyota said that it is expecting annual volume of 50-100 cars/year in 2015 and 2016. Tanks with a three-layer structure made of carbon fiber-reinforced plastic and other materials are used to store hydrogen at a very high pressure of 70 MPa (70 megapascals, or approximately 700 bar). SAE World Congress panel highlights progress on H2 infrastructure and fuel cell vehicle commercialization

These three geographical areas will each have approximately 50 stations by 2016 and plans to expand this cumulatively to a multiple hundreds by 2020 and thousands in the decade thereafter. Germany will have ~14-16 H 2 stations this year, with 50 by the end of 2016. Japan will have 45 H 2 stations this year, with ~100 in 2016.
