DOE: US gasoline taxes dropped below 20% of total price in 2015

OECD: governments should make better use of energy taxation to address climate change; “meaningful” increases limited to road sector

Taxes are effective at cutting harmful emissions from energy use, but governments could make better use of them. In 2015, outside of road transport, 81% of emissions were untaxed, according to the report. Tax rates were below the low-end estimate of climate costs (EUR 30/tCO 2 ) for 97% of emissions.

BMW-Sixt car-sharing JV DriveNow launches in London; 30 i3s coming in 2015

DriveNow furthermore intends to add 30 all-electric BMW i3 cars to the London fleet in spring 2015, expanding it to a total of 300 vehicles during the course of next year. Prices for the hourly packages vary from £35 ($55) for three hours, including 40 free miles, to £120 ($188) for 24 hours, including 125 free miles.
