Audi e-gas plant qualified to participate in balancing market to stabilize grid

The Audi e-gas plant in the city of Werlte in Lower Saxony ( earlier post ) produces CO 2 neutral-fuel (synthetic methane from water, renewable electricity and CO 2 ); it now also contributes toward stabilizing the public power grid. This has resulted in the plant being accepted under the direction of grid operator Tennet TSO GmbH.

Toyota to debut 2 BEVs, 1 PHEV for US this year; says research shows BEVs & PHEVs have similar environmental benefits

These initiatives are further steps toward achieving the Toyota Environmental Challenge 2050, introduced in 2015. Using the “Greenhouse gases, Regulated Emissions, and Energy use in Technologies” (GREET) model, researchers found that the production of a PHEV emits less GHG since it uses a smaller, lighter weight battery.

BMW begins Phase 2 of ChargeForward Program with PG&E to study advanced electric vehicle charging; results from Phase 1

Phase 1 of the program demonstrated the viability of creating grid value by optimizing smart charging of EVs. Conducted with PG&E from July 2015 through December 2016, BMW enabled nearly 100 BMW i3 owners located in the San Francisco Bay Area to earn an incentive by offering flexibility in the time by which their vehicle was charged.

BMW i home energy storage system integrates 2nd-life i3 vehicle batteries

California Governor’s Office releases 2013 ZEV action plan; 1.5M ZEVs on CA roadways by 2025

The Executive Order established several milestones organized into three time periods: by 2015, by 2020, and by 2025. In 2015, 10% of state departments’ light-duty fleet purchases must be ZEVs, climbing to 25% of light duty purchases by 2020. Coulomb Racks Up Series of Charging Infrastructure Wins

The City of Amsterdam plans to deploy 200 charging stations before 2012, and expects the charging stations to fuel 10,000 electric cars in 2015. Leading energy company Nuon will provide renewable energy for the charging stations and Coulomb’s international partner 365-Energy will manage the ChargePoint Network for subscribers.
