Neste Oil plans to use yeast and fungi to convert waste into oil for NExBTL feedstock. The technology is designed to produce feedstock for NExBTL renewable diesel by using yeast and fungi to convert sugars from waste and residues into oil highly efficiently. Commercial-scale production is expected by 2015 at the earliest.

California approves sale of DME as compression-ignition engine fuel

The regulation was proposed on 25 July 2014; it was approved and filed with the Secretary of State, with an effective date of 1 January 2015. Volvo Group has been collaborating with Oberon on commercial vehicle demonstrations of DME. The DME molecule also has a high ratio of oxygen to carbon atoms, which promotes cleaner burning.
