When it’s time to replace their cars, many Toyota Prius owners choose another of the hybrids, according used-car retailer CarMax. More than 38% of CarMax customers who own a Prius purchase another one, according to the company. That makes the Prius the model with the highest loyalty in CarMax’s inventory.

The 2013 Chevrolet Volt is the third model year of Chevy's unique range-extended electric car, and after a challenging start and a lot of bad media, it has emerged as the best-selling plug-in car in the U.S.--selling selling at a faster rate than the Nissan Leaf battery electric hatchback and the new Toyota Prius Plug-In Hybrid.

The new Ford C-MAX Energi plug-in hybrid ( earlier post ), which goes on sale in the US this year, is now EPA- certified at 100 miles-per-gallon equivalent (MPGe) combined city and highway, and 108 MPGe in the city. Ford projects that its Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid, due out in early 2013, will deliver 100+ MPGe combined.
