AVERE-France, the French hybrid and electric vehicle association, reports that sales of electric vehicles in France reached 5,663 units for cars (VP) and 3,651 units for commercial vehicles (LCV) in 2012, increasing 115% and 117%, respectively, against the 2011 results. of West Europe’s total new car market.

car buyers took home about 17,500 plug-in electric cars in 2011. In 2012, about 53,000 electric cars were likely sold--essentially triple the prior year's number. We know that at least 50,000 sales of plug-in cars will have been reported by Chevrolet, Ford, Honda, Nissan, and. A lot better. Not bad, huh?

In September, GM’s plug-in hybrid Chevrolet Volt (2,851 units sold) and Toyota’s plug-in hybrid Prius PHV (1,652 units sold) continued to lead sales in the US of plug-in vehicles from major OEMs. The battery-electric Nissan Leaf followed with 984 units, a decrease from Sep 2011, but its best performance since then.
