California state fleet reduces petroleum consumption 13% compared to 2003

The California state fleet has reduced its petroleum consumption by 13% compared to a 2003 baseline, according to a state progress report. In 2003, the state fleet consumed 38,559,715 gallons of petroleum-based fuel (gasoline and diesel), according to the report. 281,619 gallons gasoline equivalent (gge) of CNG and propane (7%).

Volvo Car Corporation begins production of the Volvo C30 Electric for leasing customers in Europe

The Volvo Car Corporation has begun production of the C30 Electric ( earlier post ); initial deliveries to leasing customers, mainly companies, authorities and governmental bodies, will take place immediately after the summer. Volvo says it will build about 250 cars by the end of 2012, possibly more if market interest takes off.

GE survey finds volatile fuel prices are top fleet manager concern; 28% plan to incorporate electric vehicles within next 12 months

Corporate fleet managers rate higher and more volatile fuel prices as their top concern in 2011, according to a recent survey conducted by GE Capital Fleet Services. Concern for driver safety increased in 2011 to 28% from 21% in 2010, while cost savings fell as a priority but remained important at 23%, down from 36% in 2010.

City of Montreal signs a framework agreement for the purchase of Nissan LEAF EVs for municipal fleet
