Polk’s assessment of hybrid loyalty by quarter. While the selection of hybrid models in the US has more than doubled since 2007, only 35% of hybrid vehicle owners choose to purchase a hybrid again when returning to market in 2011, according to recent analysis by Polk. Hybrid vehicles represent 2.4%

Monthly sales of the Prius in Japan since 2007. Honda’s Insight hybrid came in fifth in the overall rankings for the month, with 9, 413 units sold. Combined, the two dedicated hybrids accounted for 13.5% Toyota’s new SAI hybrid, which goes on sale on Monday, has already drawn pre-orders for some 14,000 units.

The US Federal Transit Administration (FTA) has published a report summarizing interviews with participants in the hydrogen-powered buses trials underway in more than 20 cities around the world from 2002 to 2007. Fuel cell hybrid buses are deployed in North America, at AC Transit and SunLine in California, and CTTRANSIT in Connecticut.

Since 2007, variations of an LCFS policy have been adopted by California (LCFS); the European Union (Fuel Quality Directive, FQD); and British Columbia (Renewable and Low-Carbon Fuel Requirement Regulation, RLCFRR). An LCFS is a hybrid of a regulatory and market policy instrument. Many options exist for meeting the standard.

Thats short-sighted. GM is developing more fuel-efficient vehicles. It offers 18 models that deliver 30 mpg or more.
