Ford Motor Company’s first-half total US sales grew 5% with 1,353,048 vehicles sold—its best first-half performance since 2006. Ford truck performance remains the standout for the first half of the year. Ford brand SUVs had their best-ever first half with 395,116 total vehicles sold—up 9% versus a year ago.

The milestone makes Ford the best-selling brand in America and the first automotive brand to hit the 2 million mark in the US since 2007. In 2010, Ford brand sales reached 1,756,439 units, up 21.5% versus 2009. to 10,398 units.

Ford Motor Company sales rose 5% in total US sales in April with 222,498 vehicles sold. Ford brand SUVs had a record-setting month—the company’s best April ever—with sales of 62,730 vehicles. This included record sales of the all-new Edge, up 78%, and Escape up 5%. Edge is now turning on dealer lots in just 10 days.
