The trend of declining coal-fired electricity generation in the power sector and increasing non-fossil and natural gas-fired generation continued in 2015. Coal’s share of total electricity generation in the power sector fell from 54% in 1990 to 34% in 2015. Diesel fuel emissions, on the other hand, declined by 0.4% Electricity.
