The concept behind V2G had gained traction in the late 1990s after California’s landmark zero-emission-vehicle (ZEV) mandate went into effect and compelled automakers to commercialize electric cars. For the utilities, it promised an economical way of meeting rising demand for electricity. AC Propulsion’s experiment was timely.

A distance of 923 km using DC fast charging infrastructure. We then went on to do a slow charge upto 100%. Was 2000 hrs by then. We had to charge it to 100 percent - and decided that we will come down after an hour to switch off the connection. There was a power outage at 2145 hrs and the charging stopped.

Hyundai’s Ioniq 5 N is here to challenge everything you once thought about electric cars. Only options are a Vision Roof (panoramic glass) costing $2000, and matte paint for $1000. This would be typical of most track sessions with a petrol performance car, really. Boring, silent, and soulless?

Both ministers drove a MINI E electric car at the event as they announced plans to support motorists by providing help worth £2000-£5000 towards buying their first electric or plug-in hybrid car when they hit the showrooms. With 240V/32A, charging time for the car will be around four hours.

The Volt is, and always has been, more than than an electric car. Lutz, who retired earlier this year, called the car Detroits "moon shot" and an attempt to wrest the mantle of innovation back from the Japanese. GM will leapfrog Toyota and Honda by providing an electric car to the masses by the end of next year.
