The Electrification Coalition released two case studies outlining how two cities— Houston, Texas and Loveland, Colorado —are saving money by using electric vehicles (EVs) in their vehicle fleets. A similar study examining Loveland, Colo. Earlier post.). Hybrids now constitute more than 50% of the city’s light-duty fleet.

Their paper, to be published in the summer issue of the journal Issues in Science and Technology , is based on their earlier study that found that strategies to promote adoption of hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) with small battery packs offer more social benefits (i.e., Earlier post.).
