Battery Company Buys Plug-in Hybrid Converter?

InsideGreentech reports that Toronto Star reporter Tyler Hamilton posted on his personal blog that battery maker A123 Systems has acquired Canadian plug-in converter Hymotion. It would certainly be a good thing for A123 to have a reason beyond its relationship with GM to be interested in making batteries for plug-in cars.

Personally I'd trade range for earlier delivery, but of course it doesn't work that way. Seems the batteries are performing better than expected, and range is back up to about 250 mile per charge. But another delivery delay has been announced. Cars will not hit the road until early next year.

We believe the Board must keep all its options open to incentivize battery electrics and plug-in hybrids.
