Electronics giant Eaton has broken some new ground in the EV charger segment, and the company is showing two innovative new charging systems at CES. Eaton’s Sai Murahari, EVCI Product Manager, showed Charged its EV Smart Breaker line of chargers, which combine an EV charger with a smart circuit breaker.

Intelligent power management company Eaton has announced that its Green Motion EV chargers are certified to meet the California Type Evaluation Program (CTEP) requirements for transparent billing practices. Eaton worked closely with ChargeLab , a provider of EV charger management software, to meet the CTEP requirements.

The EPA is currently finalizing new rules to limit truck emissions, and a group of manufacturers including Ford, Cummins, BorgWarner and Eaton has broken with the industry to support the upcoming “Phase 3” heavy duty emissions rules, while the rest of the industry, led by Volvo and Daimler, continues to lobby against them.
