Honda Malaysia Sdn. HMSB), a Honda automobile production and sales joint venture in Malaysia, has begun construction of a second automobile production line at the existing auto plant in Malacca, Malaysia. At the end of this year, HMSB will begin local production of hybrid vehicles using the existing production line.

Honda Motor has begun assembling and marketing the subcompact Fit Hybrid (Jass Hybrid) in Thailand. The hybrid is assembled at Honda’s plant in Ayutthaya, using core components from Japan. Planned sales volume in 10,000 units per year. Honda said it has sold about 150,000 units of the Fit and Jazz hybrid worldwide so far.

Along with the release of the study, Nissan announced that the new LEAF will go on sale in seven markets in Asia and Oceania during the next fiscal year: Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea and Thailand. Nissan has sold more than 300,000 LEAFs globally since the model first went on sale in 2010.
