The all-new, production version of the 2019 Insight ( earlier post ) will make its global production debut at the 2018 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS). The third-generation Insight is powered by the third generation of Honda’s two-motor hybrid system, featuring a 1.5-liter Body and chassis.

As the next step in Honda’s electrification strategy in North America, the company will focus on increasing hybrid volume of core models: CR-V, Accord and, in the future, Civic. To make room for these moves, Honda will conclude Insight production in June. Honda Electrified Future.

The Honda Insight, launched this month, is outselling its competitors in the hybrid market. Since going on sale on 4 April, 229 Insights have been sold in the UK, ahead of its nearest rival the Toyota Prius (198 units). Honda expects to sell around 7,000 Insights in the UK this year.
