has closed a $68,155,000 “Green Bond” private activity bonds offering to finance the construction of its renewable natural gas (RNG) project in Northwest Iowa. The feedstock for the RNG Project will be supplied by three dairy farms located in Northwest Iowa totaling more than 20,000 milking cows.

Flint Hills Resources Renewables, LLC, a leading US ethanol producer, will become a customer of Edeniq, Inc., Flint Hills Resources Renewables expects further adoption of Edeniq equipment to provide bolt-on technologies needed to extract sugar from a wide range of cellulosic (non-food) feedstocks to create cellulosic ethanol.

Knittel/Smith results for implied gasoline price effects from elimination of ethanol for 2010 using Du/Hayes model and pooled-sample estimates. Put simply, the empirical results merely reflect the fact that ethanol production increased during the sample period whereas the ratio of gasoline to crude oil prices decreased.

US Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced that the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) will invest up to $100 million in a Biofuels Infrastructure Partnership to support the infrastructure needed to make more renewable fuel options available to American consumers. USDA will post a Notice of Solicitation of Applications in June.

EPA has informed the Renewable Fuels Association (RFA) that the RFA Model E15 Misfueling Mitigation Plan would generally be sufficient to satisfy the partial waivers’ requirement for a misfueling mitigation plan. The partial waivers allow fuel and fuel additive manufacturers to introduce gasoline-ethanol blends containing grater than 10% vol.
