Last fall, Japan suspended its test of driverless golf carts that travel 7 mph after one of them hit the pedal of a parked bicycle. Driverless technology works much better with battery electric cars than with gasoline-powered cars or most hybrid gasoline-electric cars. No one was injured. The testing resumed in March.

There are choices for 110 volt versus 220 volt, slow versus quick charges, and solar options. It is reminiscent of the early 1900’s, when steam, electric, diesel, biomass, and gasoline power options competed on a level playing field for consumers’ attention. If you charge with solar, is way less. Gasoline is burnt up and gone forever into the atmosphere and into our lungs. The small electric will be king and batteries a valuable commodity, so valuable in fact, they will have to be wielded in to prevent theft by the Solar, Wind, Wave, Tidal, folks for their home installations!
